This is a note from HF ’76 classmate Bryant Swart about Bill Enslin:
Bill was one of my closest friends in high school and after. At one time we worked for the same company in California. He stayed out there after going to ASU. I returned to Chicago working for Duchossois Industries. Bill went on to start his own insurance brokerage and did that then until his death. I went online yesterday to pull down obituary but the paper does not go back to June.
Therefore, Bill Enslin, soft spoken, kind, and gentle hearted man, died Wednesday May 31, 2006 at the age of 48. He was riding his Ducati 900S in the southern California mountains and had a mishap causing his death at the scene.
Funeral services were held in Fallbrook, California June 5, 2006 where he resided with his wife Nellie. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nellie as she transitions to life without Bill. This tragedy is shared with Nellie by their many friends and family members.
Bill traveled with Nellie frequently to her family home in southern France. Bill enjoyed his motorcycles, cars, and most of all, sailing the Pacific. HF classmates attending the funeral were, David Pyles, Roy Dennis, Bryant Swart, Lloyd Wennlund ’75, and Roy Wennlund ’75.
Nellie remains in Fallbrook, California and I encourage your thoughts and prayers be extended to her during these trying times.
